FLEETWOOD TOWN

The Cod Army will be looking to get back to winning ways after back to back defeats, most recently a narrow 1-0 loss to Peterborough United at Highbury Stadium on Good Friday.

The Posh scored the only goal of the game in the 89th minute when Jonson Clarke-Harris found the back of the net with a free kick from the edge of the box. Early in the first half, Wes Burns had Fleetwood’s best chance of the game, but he failed to break the deadlock and fired over from close range.

Before the international break, Town lost 2-0 to John Sheridan’s Swindon Town. Scott Twine opened the scoring for the Robins with the first shot of the game inside the first five minutes. The midfielder added to his tally and doubled his side’s lead midway through the second half, with Ged Garner coming close to finding the net for the Cod Army.

AFC WIMBLEDON

Hosts AFC Wimbledon will be looking to grab all three points on Monday and bounce back from Friday’s 1-0 defeat to Plymouth Argyle at Home Park.

Defender Sam Wood’s scored his first of the season and the only goal of the game just 11 minutes into the game. Despite the Dons dominating possession, it was Argyle who came away with all three points.

The week before, Mark Robinson’s side put in a hard-fought performance to beat Northampton Town 1-0. In the 88th minute Joe Pigott forced home a loose ball in the penalty area, blocking Peter Kioso’s attempted clearance to earn his side the victory. There was more late drama when the Cobblers were awarded a penalty, but goalkeeper Nikola Tzanev saved Sam Hoskins' penalty.

ONE TO WATCH: JOE PIGOTT

The one to watch for the Dons is Joe Pigott. The 27-year-old has contributed to exactly 50 percent of his side’s league goals this season (14 goals and four assists).

Pigott, born in Maidenhead, started his career at Charlton Athletic. He underwent various loan spells across different levels of English football after signing his professional contract in 2012, most notably at Southend United where he spent two consecutive spells between 2015 and 2016.

He featured in the Shrimpers’ 2015 League Two play-off Final at Wembley against Wycombe Wanderers, where he scored in extra time to take the match to a penalty shoot-out. Pigott scored Southend's first penalty in the 7–6 shoot-out victory, which saw the team win promotion to League One.

Pigott’s impressive performances for Southend earned him a move to Cambridge United for whom he made 10 appearances, before going out on loan to Maidstone United where he found some form and scored six goals for the club.

After settling in at Maidstone, the attacking midfielder signed for The Stones permanently on a one-year contract going on to score 17 goals in all competitions.

In January 2018, Pigott signed for the Dons for whom he has made 139 appearances in all competitions, scoring 46 goals. He scored four minutes into his AFC Wimbledon debut in a 2–0 victory at home to Blackpool after coming off the bench in the second half.
