Fleetwood Town are set to travel to Weston Homes Stadium to face Peterborough United on Saturday afternoon for another Sky Bet League One clash.
The Cod Army have faced The Posh 12 times in competitive fixtures, with both Fleetwood and Peterborough both winning five times, with the two sides sharing the points on two other occasions.
Last Competitive Clash
The last time the two sides met was back in February of this year, which was a Sky Bet League One tie that Fleetwood came out 2-1 victors at Highbury.
Callum Connolly scored his first goal for the Cod Army - whilst on loan from Premier League side Everton - with a pinpoint strike after 15 minutes, with Dan Butler levelling the scoreline minutes into the second half. Wes Burns’ individual effort saw him beat two defenders before he slotted his shot into the bottom corner - scoring the winner on the day.
On the opening day of the 2019/20 season, Fleetwood beat The Posh 3-1 at the Weston Homes Stadium. Former loanee, Harry Souttar, opened the scoring in the 4th minute of the game, after rising high to meet Paul Coutts corner to head the ball home.
Ten minutes later, Josh Morris made it two as he met a long ball over the top and lobbed the keeper from close range doubling Fleetwood’s lead. Ivan Toney pulled one back for the visitors but it was Danny Andrew’s free-kick from 35 yards that settled the tie, as he rocketed the ball past the goalkeeper from range.
