Fleetwood Town Community Trust works closely with primary schools within the Wyre to using the Premier League Primary Stars Programme to help support and healthy and active lifestyle.
The programme uses the appeal of the Premier League and the football club to help children learn in a PE environment and to also develop important life skills.
Since the start of the school year, the Trust has been delivering to over 15 schools by supporting and educating teachers within PE lessons, by getting children active and healthy during these PE lessons and also by teaching English using the Primary Stars English programme which allows children to improve their reading and writing skills in a football environment.
They have continued to deliver their Premier League Primary Stars programme virtually, throughout the current pandemic, to more than over 20 primary schools. Since the start of September, the Community’s delivery has now resumed in school allowing us to teach and educate the children and teachers face to face.
The club’s Trust has worked closely with Pilling St Johns during the pandemic and delivered a CPD workshop virtually we based the workshop on supporting teachers with the PE National Curriculum and differentiation within lessons.
The headteacher at Pilling St Johns had this to say: “Thank you for delivering, the staff were great, and this was exactly what we were after. We are looking forward to working with Fleetwood Town’s Community Trust again.”
