The Premier League and Fleetwood Town are encouraging football supporters to #GetInTouch with older relatives, friends and neighbours to show their support for those who may be feeling isolated during the Coronavirus pandemic.

Football clubs are calling on fans to write a letter or pick up the phone to an older person they who, who may be feeling lonely or vulnerable at this time. Staying connected through the pandemic is an important way to encourage positive mental wellbeing and this #GetInTouch activity follows from the launch of the Premier League’s online #StayWell hub last week.

Through the campaign, families will be encouraged to write a letter together for an older person, using the free downloadable Premier League Primary Stars home-learning worksheets, which are available at The letter-writing activity pack – created for five-to-11-year-olds – also includes some football-based conversation starters to help inspire children with their writing.

Supporters can also #GetInTouch with an older person they know via a phone or video call. This positive action will enable those in isolation to retain in contact with their friends and families, allowing them also to reminisce about happier time whilst also giving them an outlet to discuss any worries they might be having.

Together, football fans have the power to make a positive difference through this pandemic. We want supporters to share a photo of their letters, or a video call of their phone conversation with an older person on social media using @PremierLeague and #GetInTouch.
