Fleetwood Town Wrens Ladies were back to winning ways on Sunday, as they beat Manchester Stingers 4-2 at Poolfoot Farm.
Dave Butler’s side – who sit in fifth position in the North West Womens Regional League – played brilliantly throughout their fixture against the Stingers, with both Danni Cross and Lauren Oatley both grabbing braces on the day. The standout player of the match was Oatley.
The reserves were also in action on Sunday but, unfortunately, they lost 3-1 to Penrith AFC. Caroline Wilcock was the only goal scorer on the day, with goalkeeper Chloe O’Neill grabbing player of the match.
Both sides are playing again on Sunday 15 March. The first team are hosting Sir Tom Finney First Women at Poolfoot Farm (2pm kick-off), with the Reserves playing Hindley Junior Women at School Road (2pm kick-off).
