Fleetwood Town’s first team players returned to Poolfoot Farm for the first time since the nation-wide lockdown on Monday and completed a non-contact training session.
The players were split into two groups, which trained at separate times with a limited number of coaches. Led by head coach Joey Barton, the session was fitness based so the players could get used to the training style after the break.
The session started with a socially-distanced jog around the elite pitches to get the legs moving. After the jog, sports scientist Youl Mawene guided the players through a stretching workout before the players got back on the ball.
Passing and movement drills followed, with the coaching staff getting involved as well to keep up the tempo. The players then did a bleep test to finish off the session before heading home.
Good to see everyone back!
