Fleetwood Town are delighted to announce the signing of Callum Connolly on loan from Everton until the end of the season.

The 22-year-old – who has spent the first half of this season on loan at fellow League One side Lincoln City – trained with his new teammates on Monday at Poolfoot Farm.

Connolly has represented England at U17, U18, U19, U20 and U21 level, as well as having successful loan spells at clubs such as Barnsley, Wigan Athletic, Ipswich Town and this season with The Imps.

Comfortable across any position in defence and central midfield, Connolly has already made over 150 appearances in his career so far, including 84 in the Championship.

Upon making his first signing of the January transfer window, head coach Joey Barton said: “We are really pleased to have brought Callum to the club.

“He is someone that we have been tracking for some time, so when the opportunity arose to bring him into our group we jumped at the chance.

“I feel that he will add to already strong group of characters that we have in the building, and we all look forward to seeing him perform for Fleetwood Town.”

Callum will wear the number four shirt whilst at Highbury, and is eligible for Saturday’s trip to Burton Albion.
