Fleetwood Town are delighted to announce the signing of Barrie McKay on loan from Swansea City until the end of the season.

The 25-year-old arrives at Highbury after spending 18 months in South Wales, where he played 34 times in the Championship, scoring three goals.

Prior to joining Swansea, the Scotsman came through the ranks at Glasgow Rangers, and went on to play over 100 times for the Scottish giants. A move to Nottingham Forest subsequently followed in 2017, where he played 28 times, scoring five goals in England’s second tier.

Joey Barton said on completing the signing: “Barrie is a creative attacker who will provide a real spark in our squad.

“He’s a tricky player who has the ability to go past players, create chances and score goals, so he’s absolutely what we’ve been after.

“We look forward to him joining up with the squad and making an impact on the pitch.”

The move is subject to confirmation from the EFL and the club receiving international clearance.
