Fleetwood Town Wrens Ladies got back to winning ways on Sunday as they beat Sir Tom Finney FC Ladies 5-2 at UCLan Arena.

Dave Butler’s ladies – who are now up to fifth in the North West Womens Regional League – performed brilliantly, with Dani Cross, Lou Gibbins, Harriet Levis all scoring one, and Lauren Oatley securing another brace for the season.

The reserves were also in action on Sunday as they travelled to Haslingden in a Lancashire FA Women’s County League Cup tie, but they unfortunately lost the match 3-1, even after leading the game for 60 minutes thanks to a Jordan O’Neill goal.

It was a big weekend for debuts for both sides as goalkeeper Meghan Pope made her debut for the first team, whilst Bethanne Bullion, Sophie Hague and 16-year old Sophie Rushton all made their debuts for the reserves.

All eyes are now on their next fixtures. The first team are on the road again this weekend and will play Mossley Hill Ladies (2pm kick-off), with the reserves set to play Nelson Ladies (2pm kick-off).
