Fleetwood Town are set to travel to the PTS Academy Stadium to face Northampton Town on Tuesday evening for another Sky Bet League One clash.
The Cod Army have faced The Cobblers nine times in competitive fixtures, with Fleetwood winning five, Northampton winning three, and the two sides have shared the points on only one occasion.
Last Competitive Clash
The last time these sides met, Fleetwood came away with a 2-0 win at Highbury Stadium back in March 2018.
Kyle Dempsey opened the scoring on the day as he finished off a flowing move in the 18th minute, before Ash Hunter whipped a corner into a pack box where Cian Bolger was able to poke the ball into the back of the net for double Town’s lead on the day.
Northampton asked a few questions, but Town were comfortable in the end and deserved the three points.
Last time at Sixfields
The last time the Cod Army made its way to Sixfields, Fleetwood ended up winning 1-0 at the start of the 2017/18 season.
In an end-to-end game, it was Devante Cole, who came off the bench on the day, who made the difference as he managed to latch onto an Aiden O’Neill through ball before slotting the ball past David Cornell.
After the goal, Town seems to gather some steam in the game and could have made it two with O’Neill receiving the ball from Amari’i Bell late on, but his effort was caught by the Northampton goalkeeper.
