Fleetwood Town can confirm that our home fixture with Ipswich Town on Saturday 2 January will be our annual memorial fixture, where we will pay our respects to supporters who have passed away during 2020.
JT Byrne Funeral Directors will be the matchday sponsors, we thank our club partner for their continued support of the annual Memorial Fixture.
This year it is extremely important given that many families in the community have been affected by the current pandemic.
A minute’s silence will be observed ahead of kick-off, with names displayed on the big screen, as a tribute to the supporters who have passed away over the last year.
John Byrne, Director at JT Byrne, told us: “The memorial fixture at Fleetwood Town is always a game close to our hearts.
“The heartfelt gesture from the club to dedicate the first home game of the new year for the fans and supporters of the club who have passed away is always appreciated by the football community of Fleetwood.
“This time of the year is especially difficult when a loved one has passed away and even more so to the current situation, we see ourselves facing as a community.”
