Fleetwood Town can confirm that Aston Villa U21s will join Carlisle United and Sunderland in Group A of this season's EFL Trophy.
Joey Barton’s side will welcome Villa to the Fylde Coast in the EFL Trophy, following the live draw on TalkSport2 on Tuesday afternoon.
With Town already grouped with Carlisle United and Sunderland, there was one place remaining in the group – with Aston Villa, Leeds United, Leicester City, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Newcastle United and Wolverhampton Wanderers all in the pot.
The Cod Army made it to the Last 16 of the competition last season and managed to beat Everton at Goodison Park along the way.
