Fleetwood Town Wrens Ladies cruised through to the next round of The Women’s FA Cup on Sunday after beating Tameside United 5-1 at Great Academy Ashton.
Fleetwood started the game brightly and thanks to two first-half strikes from Gemma Newson and Lauren Oatley, they went into the half up two goals to one.
The Wrens Ladies came out the blocks in the second half as well, with Newson grabbing her second of the game in the 52nd minute, before completing her hat-trick shortly after.
Oatley finished the game off with ten minutes to go as she scored her second, and the side’s fifth, seeing Fleetwood comfortably through to the next round.
The Wrens Ladies’ next game is on Wednesday 4th September as they host Morecambe Ladies First at Poolfoot Farm (6:30pm kick-off).
