Fleetwood Town's Under 18s carried on their brilliant Youth Alliance form on Saturday as they managed to beat Preston North End 4-0 at Poolfoot Farm.

It was a day to remember for young Irishman, Barry Baggley as his two stunning free-kicks helped seal an important win for Simon Wiles' Under 18s against local rivals, Preston North End. With midfielder Anthony Williams scoring in between the two set-pieces, the Cod Army saw themselves 3-0 up at half-time.

With Town dominating from start to finish, a second-half goal from Jamie Cooke sealed all three points in what was a stunning performance from all the players.

Baggley will hit the headlines for his free-kicks, however Dylan Boyle, Sam Barrett and James Hill stood out in their positions as the Under 18s extend their unbeaten run in the Youth Alliance League. Barrett and Hill were rocks in the heart of the defense, with Boyle reading the game well in midfield, breaking down the play to allow his side to hit North End on the break with the deadline strike force ahead of him.

Under 18s coach Simon Wiles added:

"It was a fantastic performance and result from the lads today. From the word go we wanted it more than Preston and I can't praise the lads enough as we defended well and attacked well as a team. It was important we got the first goal in the game and from there I thought we were excellent. Room for improvement still, however I am delighted for the boys."
