Fleetwood Town Under 11 Sam Willingale celebrated winning the English Schools Cricket Association County Under 10 Cricket Festival with Lancashire’s Under 10s in late August.
The festival – held at King’s College, Taunton – saw Lancashire play well throughout, beating Cheshire by seven wickets on the first day, Cornwall by 191 runs on Tuesday and won on the final day against Berkshire by 57 runs.
Willingale was a stand-out performer over the three days, managing 29 runs and two catches against Cheshire, 34 runs and one stumping against Cornwall and 23 runs and a stumping against Berkshire, meaning an average of 28.6 runs whilst batting!
