Fleetwood Town defender Lewie Coyle spoke to the club ahead of Saturday's Sky Bet League One match with MK Dons.

The Leeds United loanee wore the armband for the first time this season on Wednesday following Paul Coutts' suspension, and now the full-back is looking for a reaction with Paul Tisdale’s side making the trip up to the Fylde Coast.

Coyle reflected on Wednesday’s match, but said all eyes are now on MK Dons.

On the midweek loss to Coventry…

It was a disappointing result in the week, and a game we thought we could take all three points, but it wasn’t to be.

“Games come around thick and fast in this league so that game is now behind us now, and we’ll learn from it in time for Saturday.

“It’s nice to have games in such quick succession as it allows you to not dwell on the loss, and we’ve now got the opportunity to put things right just a few days later in front of our own fans.”

On MK Dons…

“It’s another great game for us to get three points, but they’ve recently come up from League Two, and with any team being promoted, they have that momentum.

“There’s no easy game in this league no matter where a team is in the table, so we’re fully ready for that and hopefully we execute our game plan and come out with the three points.”

On the impressive home record…

“It’s important if we want to get where we want to go this year, we’ve got to turn Highbury into a fortress which we have.

“We recently lost to Ipswich, but we quickly put that right with the win against Burton.

“MK Dons on Saturday will be no different, we’ll be looking to take full advantage of our home form, and once we take that into our away form, we’ll be a real force.”

On the team’s leadership…

“The manager wants there to be eleven leaders out there, and even when the lads are coming off the bench.

“He wants it to be a culture where everyone buys in and can be a leader in their own different way. They can be a leader with their voice or leading by example, that’s exactly what the gaffer wants."
