BARNET FC

The National League side entered this year’s competition at the Fourth Qualifying stage, and had to go through two-legs against local rivals, Potters Bar. After a 1-1 draw in the first match, the replay saw The Bees come away 3-1 winners, thanks to goals from Josh Walker, Ephron Mason-Clark and Josh Walker.

Barnet sit 10th in the National League on 28 points, with their latest result being a 2-1 victory over Chorley – goals came from Jack Taylor and Mauro Vilhete. The Bees have won 8 of their matches this season, drawing 8 and losing 6.

There are no injury concerns for manager Darren Currie, who will be looking to cause an FA Cup shock in the First Round on home soil.

FLEETWOOD TOWN

Sunday will be Fleetwood’s first match in this year’s competition, and the Cod Army will be looking to reach the Third Round of the FA Cup for the third year running.

Joey Barton’s side currently sit 5th in Sky Bet League One despite last weekend’s narrow 2-1 loss away at Bolton Wanderers. The Cod Army’s home form has been one people have taken notice on, with just one defeat in nine months, but it’s on the road where results haven’t been coming.

There are no injuries to report of from the Fleetwood camp, with Barton having plenty of options at his disposal when they travel down South on Sunday afternoon.

ONE TO WATCH: JOSH WALKER

Josh Walker has been with Barnet for 18-months after signing a two-year deal with the club last summer after a successful trial period.

The 21-year-old started off his career in the youth set up at Tottenham before he joined fellow London side, Fulham – where he went on to play for the club’s Under 23s. He was a regular starter for the Cottagers during his time at Craven Cottage.

In his final year at Fulham, Walker decided to make the move to Wealdstone before then making the permanent switch to Hendon in 2017. He found himself on the scoresheet 17 times that season in the 42 appearances he mad.

This year the striker has scored six goals in 16 matches, with two of those being in the FA Cup Fourth Qualifying Round against Potters Bar.

WHAT KYLE DEMPEY HAD TO SAY:

“The FA Cup is an opportunity for clubs, and if you can put a few wins together you will get to that Third Round and never know who you are going to get , hopefully one of the big teams.

“We know for Barnet that this is going to be a massive game. They will see it as an opportunity to take a scalp of a League One team, and it’s going to important that we execute our game plan on the day and be at 100% to get the win.”
