Fleetwood Town’s Under 18’s welcomed Norwegian top flight side Tromsø IL to Poolfoot Farm on Tuesday for a special friendly match.
Simon Wiles’ team – who have started the season with 12 straight competitive victories – played a mixed side for the match with Tromsø, who play in the Norwegian Eliteserien. Interestingly, the team from Norway hold the position as the northernmost top-level football club in the world.
In the match itself, Kian Makepeace scored twice for the Cod Army, before two late goals from the visitors saw the game finish level at 2-2.
It was a match played in great spirit by both sides in extremely windy and cold conditions at the club’s training ground, but one that was enjoyed by all.
