Fleetwood Town are delighted to announce striker Paddy Madden has signed a new long-term contract with the club.

The 29-year-old has put pen-to-paper on a deal which will keep him at Highbury until the summer of 2022.

Since joining from Scunthorpe United in January 2018, Madden has scored 25 goals in 69 in all competitions, and is currently the club’s fourth top scorer in the EFL.

The Irishman topped the goal scoring charts for the club this season, netting 19 times in all competitions for the Cod Army.

Head coach Joey Barton, said: “This is fantastic news for everyone associated with Fleetwood Town.

“Paddy is a key part of our team and culture, and sets the tone in every match for how we want to play. His goals are an obvious asset to the team, but his work-rate and selflessness are for me what makes him such a valuable member of our squad.

“We’re delighted to have him with us for the next three seasons.”
