The EFL’s annual Day of Action took place on Tuesday, with Fleetwood Town highlighting the superb work done by the Community Trust.
The day started with Fleetwood Town Flyers – the club’s walking football team – visiting Poolfoot Farm and meeting the club’s first team players and management over breakfast. The Flyers talked tactics with Joey Barton, before posing for pictures ahead of the first team’s morning training session.
In the afternoon, various departments from the club including the Academy and Community Trust were represented at Fleetwood Beach, for a clean-up as part of Sky’s Ocean Rescue campaign. Representatives from the Trust, including CEO Matt Hilton and members of the club’s Under 18s side, joined pupils and staff from Shakespear Primary School in front of the Sky Sports News cameras.
The final events of the day saw first team players visiting local primary schools. Eight first stars including Alex Cairns, Ash Eastham, Ash Hunter and Lewie Coyle took part in after school sessions at Stanah Primary, Larkholme Primary and St. Wulstans Primary School.
A great day enjoyed by all – thank you to our local community for helping the club celebrate the EFL’s Day of Action!
