Sun-soaked Poolfoot sees another packed Former Players meeting

On Thursday morning, the Former Players Association had their monthly meeting – and catchup – at Poolfoot Farm.

With the sun shining in Thornton, plenty of our former players made their way to the Fleetwood Town training complex to catchup with each other – and find out what everyone had been up to over the last month.

The meeting started in a usual fashion, with Stuart Murdoch, Chairman of Town’s FPA, announcing all of the birthdays, events coming up and special mentions to the players.

Then Tony Collier, Secretary of the FPA, announced that the fourth issue of the former players' newsletter – A Kick in the Past – was available to be picked up, and it was great to see everyone there reading it and reminiscing old memories due to the images and features in there.

Recently, we caught up with former player – and club legend – Jamie Milligan. The midfielder was a key figure in Fleetwood’s side as they gained promotion from non-league – known then as the Blue Square Premier, to the Football League in 2010. Watch the full interview HERE.

The next meeting will take place at Poolfoot Farm on Thursday 4th July at 10am. Further details about the meeting may be obtained from the Association's Chairman, Stuart Murdoch, by email stuart.murdoch@fleetwoodtownfc.com or phone 07921 934775.
