Fleetwood Town International Football Academy (FTIFA) will be expanding their horizons this summer as they pack their bags for a week in Hong Kong.

Mick Horsfall (Operations Manager) and James Ward (International Partnership Manager) will be spending a week working with local schools, and football clubs to deliver assemblies, seminars and practical sessions with a view to players coming back to the United Kingdom to work on one of the many FTIFA programmes.

The pair will set off from Manchester Airport, making a stop in the capital city before making their way across Europe and then into Asia.

James Ward who is the international Partnerships manager said this opportunity to work in Asia was one too good to turn down. He said: “We are excited to be taking the Fleetwood Town brand to parts of the world we previously haven’t touched.

“There is a real thirst for football and individual player development as well as a desire to extend educational pathways with boys from this area, so we will go confidently knowing that we have a programme to suit all mindsets.”

Operations Manager for FTIFA, Mick Horsfall also stated that this trip can really put Fleetwood Town on the map.

“We are determined to give as many players from across the globe the chance to come and see what we have to offer.

"Having been at the heart of Poolfoot and seen its growth over the last three years, I am now sure that this next chapter in the story will be a success, and we further stake Poolfoot as one of the best facilities in the United Kingdom and hopefully within the world.”
