Fleetwood Town are delighted to announce the signing of left-back Danny Andrew.

Andrew rejoins the Cod Army after playing for the club between 2014 and 2016, with the club fighting off strong competition from a host of teams for the 28-year-old’s signature.

A proven League One defender – Andrew featured 56 times in all competitions for Doncaster Rovers last season, featuring in every league game and both play-off matches as Grant McCann’s side finished sixth in Sky Bet League One.

Boston-born – Andrew has played over 250 times in his career for the likes of Doncaster, Grimsby Town, Macclesfield Town and Cheltenham Town, as well as 17 times in the league for Fleetwood.

Head coach Joey Barton said upon Andrew signing a three-year contract at Highbury: “We’re really pleased to see Danny join the club.

“He was a key player in Doncaster’s successful season last year as they reached the play-offs, and we hope he can build on that with us over the next three years.

“I know that a number of clubs were interested in signing Danny, so this shows a real statement of intent from the club as we build towards the new season.”
