Fleetwood Town and Fleetwood Town Community Trust were joined by Captain Cod this morning at Shakespeare Primary School for an assembly with the next generation of Cod Army supporters.

The youngsters at the Fleetwood school all listened to a talk about the club and the great work being done in the community.

At the end of the assembly, medals were handed to pupils after an excellent week of success for the school in a variety of sports they had participated in.

Dave Riche, General Manager at Fleetwood Town said: “The Trust do some excellent work in the schools around the Wyre and Fylde Coast area, and they kindly invited us along to do an assembly to promote the Onward Card, and junior activities this season along with their sports camps.

“This is the next generation of Fleetwood Town fans and we want them to come to games and cheer on their local team. Working together with the Community Trust on initiatives like this can only be a positive.”

Similar activities are planned at other primary schools in the area before the summer break.
