Fleetwood Town will face the Liverpool’s Under 23s at Highbury Stadium in Group B of the EFL Trophy.
Joey Barton’s side will welcome the Reds of Liverpool to the Fylde Coast in the EFL Trophy following the live draw on TalkSport on Friday afternoon.
With Town already grouped with fellow Sky Bet League One side Accrington Stanley, and League Two Oldham Athletic, there was one remaining place in the group – with Liverpool, Leicester and Manchester United just some of the names to be placed.
It was the European Champions name that got read out for Group B, and now all eyes will look forward to this fixture – which will take place in the early parts of the 2019/20 season.
Tickets and the date of the match is yet to be confirmed, with an announcement set in due course.
