Fleetwood Town are delighted to confirm the signing of Lewie Coyle from Leeds United on an initial six-month loan deal.

The 23-year-old has signed for the club on loan, in what will now be his third loan spell from the Sky Bet Championship side, and becomes the fourth signing of the summer following the arrival of Danny Andrew, Josh Morris and Paul Coutts.

Coyle first signed for the Cod Army back in 2017 on a season long loan deal from the West Yorkshire side, before extending his time at Highbury last summer for another season. He has made 93 appearance from the club over the last two seasons, and will join up with Joey Barton’s squad immediately ahead of next week’s pre-season training camp in Portugal.

Head coach, Joey Barton said: “We are really pleased to welcome Lewie back to Fleetwood Town.

“We know exactly what we are getting, both in terms of on the pitch and off it. He’s a great lad in the dressing room, and constantly drives the standards up every day in training.

“He has developed so much over the last two years at the club and we look forward to what he will offer further to our group.”
