On Thursday morning, the Former Players Association had their monthly meeting at Poolfoot Farm.

With the sun shining once again in Thornton on the day of the meeting, plenty of our former players made their way to the Fleetwood Town training complex to catch-up with each other – and find out what everyone had been up to over the last month.

The meeting started in a usual fashion, with Stuart Murdoch, Chairman of Town’s FPA, announcing all of the birthdays, events coming up and with a trip down to the training pitch to see Joey Barton's men in action as they prepare themselves for their first pre-season friendly match against Wrexham - which is taking place on Friday at Poolfoot Farm. This month with caught up with former Town defender, Gerry Stephen - who played for the club in 1957. He made the move up to the North following time down in London, but still keeps up to date with all the club news because of the number of friends he made during his short time on the Fylde Coast.

You can watch the full interview with Gerry by heading over to iFollow, as we discussed his time at the club, how the game has changed over the last decade, and much more - Click here!

The next meeting will take place at Poolfoot Farm on Thursday 1st August at 10am. Further details about the meeting may be obtained from the Association's Chairman, Stuart Murdoch, by email stuart.murdoch@fleetwoodtownfc.com or phone 07921 934775.
