The FTITFA Academy goes from strength to strength in what will be its 2nd season, giving players opportunities to get a foot in the door at Fleetwood Town Football Club.

For the staff and players at FTIFA, we see this as a huge pull for the academy and this ultimately sees the demand increase each week from those onboard the programme. There are currently players in the world who would love the chance to prove their ability and become a professional footballer.

Mick Horsfall, FTIFA Operations Manager said “We are really excited about the new season ahead.

"At the moment we have 16 boys coming from across every corner of the globe (Canada, USA, Africa, Asia and Australia) and they will all be represented here on the Fylde Coast. The level of ability is increasing, with some of our players earmarked for their national teams at certain levels.”

FTIFA also offer other pathways for players if they don't get the offer they want from Fleetwood Town. Mick Horsfall expressed: “FTIFA is unique, not only in having a chance here at Poolfoot Farm, but for one our partner clubs around the world.

“Alongside this, we offer an insight into professional departments within the club. Access to the Media, strength and conditional coaches, as well as the Community Trust coaching team are all opportunities to let players have a look at alternative careers options if they want to be involved in football.

“FTIFA is about developing people as much as it is finding a player!”

FTIFA Partnerships Manager, James Ward added “The players who come on our program are only ever 20ft from the first team manager. This means that every player who shows the right level of technique, as well mental and physical attributes has the opportunity to make the move across the site to showcase in front of the first team management staff.”

Places on the FTIFA Pro Experience Program are available in a range of durations. Players can come for 4 weeks or 24 weeks. Information and enquiry forms can be obtained at info@ftifa.co.uk.

You can also find more details on the official FTIFA website.
