12 July 2019

Friday meant the tour in Portugal was slowly coming to a close, but with a match on Saturday, it was an action packed day for the players, and the travelling Town fans.

With the Fleetwood Town fans arriving in the Algarve, it gave those who travelled a chance to meet head coach Joey Barton, the coaching staff and the players at the training complex.

Joey Barton took the fans into the meeting room for a question and answer session, with the manager being grilled about the players the fans want to see in the red and white shirts.

The supporters then made their way to the player on the decking area, where they talked and posed for pictures in the glorious sunset scenery of the Vilamoura village.

Friday morning saw the players back out on the training pitch, but it wasn’t all fun and games with the weather taking a brief turn for the worst with a thunder storm and heavy showers. One from the brave, not the light-hearted.

On the group went, but with the game on Saturday against English opponents, it was the finer details that were worked on the pitch, with set plays and more small sided matches for the players.

Another great day, with one more day to go until the players come back home to prepare for the opening match of the season away at Peterborough United.
