Jack Sowerby says he is full of confidence after starting the last two matches for Fleetwood Town.
Sowerby spent the first half of the season on loan at League Two side Carlisle United, and has featured in the last three games for Joey Barton’s side, starting the last two.
Ahead of Saturday’s trip to Burton, the 23-year-old is keen to kick on and secure a long-term slot in Town’s central midfield.
“I’ve really enjoyed being back,” said Sowerby.
“It’s been good to see all the lads again and I’m back with confidence after playing games up at Carlisle – it’s nice to be back and playing.
“This league is more intense. In the last two games that I’ve started I’m beginning to find my feet and get used to play for this club again.
“I want to come back and impress in training, impress in matches and impress the gaffer.”
Sowerby enjoyed a good spell at Brunton Park alongside Cod Army teammate Ashley Nadesan, who has also impressed on his return to Highbury.
“He has developed a lot,” stated Sowerby.
“I think – like me – he needed those games at the start of the season and he did well up there. He was scoring goals up at Carlisle and now he’s come back down and started four or five games now which is great for him.
“He’s just after that first goal and when it comes then I’m sure he’ll get himself on a run like he did earlier in the season.
“The gaffer here has been great for me. I’ve had a lot of chats with him earlier in the season and now when I’m back, and it’s important that I’m ready to play whenever I’m required.
“All the young lads are trying to do their best in training and fight for a place to start in the team.”
