Fleetwood Town are delighted to announce that Nathan Sheron has signed a new long-term contract with the club.
The 21-year-old has put pen-to-paper on a deal which will keep him at Highbury until at least the summer of 2021, with an option available for a further year.
This season has proved to be the breakthrough year for Sheron after graduating from the club’s academy.
Since making his EFL debut against Oxford United in August, Sheron has made a total of 19 appearances in the league, including 12 starts. In making his league debut for the club, he became the first product from the club’s academy to feature in the EFL.
Head coach Joey Barton said after he saw Sheron sign his new deal: “We’re really pleased to have got Nathan signed up to a long-term contract with the club.
“His attitude is first class and he has great hunger and desire to improve, and this hasn’t gone unnoticed both with the staff and his fellow players.
“Nathan is an important member of our squad and popular man in the dressing room. We’re looking forward to him continuing his development and seeing him grow at Fleetwood Town.”
