Fleetwood Town are pleased to announce that Andy Mangan has joined the first team coaching staff until the end of the season.

The 32-year-old – who was a key member of the Cod Army squad that won promotion to the EFL in 2012 – will become part of Joey Barton’s staff with immediate effect.

Mangan signed as a player for Accrington Stanley in the summer, but has now ended his contract with John Coleman’s side to link up with Town until the end of the current campaign.

Along with his commitments to the first team, Mangan will continue to coach the club’s Under 16s side, a role he has held since August last year.

Head coach Joey Barton said on the appointment: “When the opportunity came up to bring Mangs back to Fleetwood it was one that we wanted to take.

“We feel that he will add to our growing culture at the football club, and will complement the coaching staff that currently work with the first team.

“I’m sure the supporters will join me in welcoming him back to Highbury.”
