Fleetwood Town forward Ched Evans spoke following his sides 2-2 draw against Rotherham United, in the match where the Welshman scored both of Town's goals.

The Cod Army took the lead through Evans midway through the first half after Lewie Coyle’s cross was headed across goal into the far corner.

Moments after The Millers’ equalised, up stepped Evans to prod home his 7th goals of the campaign after a mishap in the defensive back line.

However, the brace from the striker wasn’t able to earn Fleetwood all three points as both goals were cancelled out by Freddie Ladapo and Matt Crooks.

Here is what Evans had to say after the match…

On the result…

“Obviously we needed to get a result today away from home. It was disappointing in the fact that we were leading twice in the game and conceded two goals, but we know coming here is never easy.

"I think if you look at the way we played; you can take real positives from it. The first half we did really well and got after them. Second half they came out with a bit of fire in their bellies and obviously we got our second goal which is nice, but our luck has to change regarding that away win.

“As I’ve said, we can take a lot of positives away and the lads today did amazing.”

On his two goals and chances today…

“Coyley [Lewie Coyle] has put a great ball in and I’ve just got in front of my man and flicked it in! Then with the second one, it is just a question of bravery really between me and the goalie. Luckily, I was braver and the ball went in.

“It would have been nice to get the hat-trick, but it was a good save from the keeper. I think that would have sealed the points if that went in.

"However, like I said, I think there was a lot of positives to take from the game and in the end it is a pleasing point.”

On the Boxing Day fixture versus Rochdale…

“It’s obviously a busy time around Christmas but the games are going to come thick and fast, so it will be about recovery.

“A win away from home would be nice for Christmas, but we will just take every game as it comes.”
