FLEETWOOD TOWN
Fleetwood head to Lincolnshire full of confidence after a 2-0 victory over Lancashire rivals, Accrington Stanley with Paddy Madden and new signing Ched Evans getting themselves on the scoresheet.
With ten points on the board for Joey Barton and his troops, it has been a solid start for the Cod Army, and with a side close to them in the league table, a victory for the Fylde Coast side will push them right up there at the top of the standings.
There are no new injury news for the fans, with Jack Sowerby and Conor McAleny still out following their knocks against Wycombe Wanderers, so the head coach will have a near enough full strength squad to choose from this weekend.
LINCOLN CITY
Lincoln City are new to League One after automatic promotion last season, and have started off life in the third tier of English football with three wins out of their first five league matches.
Manager Danny Cowley won his first match this campaign with a 2-0 home victory over Accrington Stanley, followed by another 2-0 win over Rotherham United. Their third win came against Southend, where they scored four against Kevin Bond's side.
The Imps welcomed Premier League side Everton to Sincil Bank in midweek, and played out a six goal thriller, with the visitors progressing after a 4-2 win. After three defeat on the bounce in all competitions – they’ll be looking to bounce back with a win over Joey Barton’s side.
LAST TIME THE TWO SIDES MET
The last time Fleetwood and Lincoln met was back in 2012 in the Blue Square Premier, with the score being 2-2 at Highbury Stadium.
The Imps went two goals ahead with Jamie Taylor and Jefferson Louis bagging within the first twenty minutes, however to early second half goals from Jamie Vardy saw the two share the points.
ONE TO WATCH:
The one to watch for Lincoln City is midfielder, Jorge Grant - who has scored one goal for the club since their promotion to the third tier of English football.
The 24-year-old started off his footballing career at Championship side, Reading - before he moved to the Nike Academy and then onto Nottingham Forest.
Grant - who spent six years in total at The City Ground - played 17 times for the club, with loan spells at their rivals Notts County (two spells), Luton Town and most recently, Mansfield Town. He made the permanent move to Sincil Bank in the summer for an undisclosed fee and has made six appearances in all competitions since the opening day of the season.
His only goal came against Doncaster Rovers in their 2-1 loss at the Keepmoat Stadium, and with his attributes, the midfielder will be looking to add more goals to his game in the 2019/20 campaign.
