Fleetwood Town defender Harry Souttar has been called up by Australia for their upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifier against Kuwait next month.
The towering defender – who is on a season-long loan deal at Highbury from Stoke City – will join up with Graham Arnold’s squad on Monday 2 September, ahead of the match in Kuwait City on Tuesday 10 September.
Souttar has already represented the Socceroos at Under 23 level, with this now the second time he has been called up to the senior squad.
The 20-year-old will miss the Cod Army’s Leasing.com Trophy fixture against Accrington Stanley as well as the Sky Bet League One match with Oxford United at Highbury on Saturday 7 September.
