Defender Lewie Coyle spoke to the press at Poolfoot Farm on Thursday morning ahead of Fleetwood Town’s trip to Sincil Bank to face Lincoln City this weekend.

Coyle is currently on 99 appearances for the Cod Army and has featured in every game so far this season.

The full-back also picked up an assist in Fleetwood's 2-0 in over Accrington Stanley - assisting Paddy Madden's fourth goal of the season.

Here’s what Lewie had to say…

On his upcoming milestone for Fleetwood…

“I got a text last night notifying me that this Saturday could be my 100th game – which is a great achievement. It’s crazy to think how fast it’s flown by to reach 100 games. It’s definitely something I’m proud of. It’s my third time here and it’s a no-brainer each time to decide to come back here – I enjoy it here! I enjoy my football and hopefully I’m going to be part of what could be a very successful season.

“They gave me my first chance to play league football on a consistent basis and have backed me since the start. The club, whoever has been in charge, have shown a great interest and have taken to me and vice-versa. I think it works well.”

On Lincoln City…

“They have recently come up so their confidence will be high, as all promoted team are that come up to this league. They had a very good start, dropped off a bit in recent weeks, but we know any game in this league is tough. I’ve played in this league now for three years, so you come to understand that no game is an easy one here. We’ll be ready for whatever they bring and hopefully will come away with three points.

“It will be nice to see a familiar face in Cian [Bolger]. I spent a lot of time with him up here – he’s a great lad. It’ll be business as usual, we’ll have a chat before and after the game but during, you do what you have to do. It’ll be nice to see him.”

On his ties with Leeds and their fanbase…

“It’s been so long since I’ve been back to Leeds, I’ve forgotten what conversations I’ve had there. Football is a funny old game and at the end of the day, in need to be playing on a regular basis to enhance my chances of kicking on. That was the conversation I had in the summer and Fleetwood have given me that platform again by coming here and playing games.

“I want to be part of a successful team, I want to have a promotion on my CV and I think, this season especially, we have a real good chance at doing that. Leeds fans have always been great at backing their own and I was one who came through the academy. At the end of the day, I’m here now and that’s my main focus.”
