Fleetwood Town can confirm the signing of Ryan Taylor after a successful trial at the club.

The 34-year-old – who is comfortable across midfield and at full-back – joins the Cod Army following spells at Newcastle United, Wigan Athletic and most recently, Port Vale.

Taylor – who began his career at Tranmere Rovers – becomes the club’s second signing in three days, after confirmation of Ross Wallace’s arrival on Friday.

Head coach Joey Barton said on the deal: “The hunger and desire that Ryan has shown to be part of our group at Fleetwood is exceptional, and we’re delighted to have him on board with us.

“He’s been training with us for a couple of weeks now, and I’m really pleased that we’ve been able to get the deal done.”

Ryan will wear the number 18 shirt whilst at Highbury.
