Fleetwood Town Juniors Under 15s Reds have been crowned champions of the Poulton & District Primary League.
The team – who have been with each other eight years since they were in the under 7’s category at the club – have developed close friendships since playing in the PDPL. While also bonding on the pitch, the team also share their love for the Cod Army in the stands both home and away.
The team posed for a picture with Chairman Andy Pilley and First Team Head Coach Joey Barton prior to Tuesday night’s victory over Coventry City.
Manager of the team, Andy Smart said: “We never expected to win the league, so the kids will remember it forever, they should be extremely proud.
“They’ve been all about Fleetwood Town since day one, we took them to every home game as a young team. It’s all down to the volunteer coaches, the parents and the kids focusing on their friendship and stability to develop their football.
“To do what we have done after all the challenges of normal grassroots football is really special for them. It’s a good lesson for us all to never give up.”
Well done to the team from everyone at Fleetwood Town – keep up the good work!
