Hill: We're prepared for tough game at Plymouth

Assistant head coach looks ahead to Saturday's long trip to Plymouth

Assistant head coach Clint Hill faced the media ahead of Saturday’s long trip south to face Plymouth Argyle.

Argyle currently sit in the relegation places in League One, with the Cod Army sitting in the top half of the table after last weekend’s 0-0 draw against Walsall.

See below the key quotes from Clint’s interview…

On facing Plymouth…

“This will be a tough game obviously. They’re coming off the back of a bad result so you’re mindful of they’re going to respond in some way.

“What we’ve got to do is not be complacent. Yes, the team has lost 5-1 but it’s probably not going to happen again in the next game because there’s going to be a response.

“We have to be in the mind that it is going to be a tough game, a long travel, a difficult place to go really.”

On Ashley Eastham’s form and new contract…

“He’s been brilliant from the first day we came in. He’s responded well, he’s took the challenge on. Obviously, he didn’t play the first game, and he took that knock really well and responded in the right way and is a natural leader for us.

“He drives the standards that we want every day, so he’s been a vital cog of what we are trying to achieve here, and he’s committed for a longer period so that means he’s going to be along and a bigger part for us.”

On Fleetwood’s league form this season…

“We just know that we need to stay in games because we’ve got some good players in this team, especially up front and out wide.

Look at Saturday’s 0-0 game, we probably had two or three chances you’d expect our lads to finish, so I think if we keep it nice and tight and solid and keep supplying those chances to those lads then we’ll get more results than we have done.”
