Fleetwood Town’s annual Fireworks Night went down a storm on Friday evening at Highbury stadium, with families enjoying an action-packed night of family entertainment, live music and of course the brilliant fireworks display as the finale.

The doors opened at 6:30pm and the entertainment didn’t take long to start as mascots from children’s television shows and local companies were out spreading smiles across the stadium.

The Community Trust then took over the show with their football skill challenges, with handpicked players from the crowd, ranging from dizzy penalties to playing against Captain Cod.

Soon after, it was time for the mascot race, which made everyone in the crowd laugh. From Captain Cod to Peppa Pig, they all took their places on the start line and set off after a blast of a whistle. Town’s mascot came out on top on the night, but Party Swan’s mascot got lost in the music and just danced its way around the course.

The entertainment continued as Fylde coast-based band Higher Ground took to the stage and played for the crowd ahead of the 50/50 draw which saw winners pick up money prizes, toys from Smyths Toy Superstores and more.

With hot drinks and snacks in hands, everyone took to their seats raring to see the finale – a firework display by Phenomenal Fireworks. The countdown from ten was echoed around the ground before a bright and brilliant display took place.

Overall, a brilliant night for everyone there. A massive thanks to all of the partners who helped with the night – Smyths Toy Superstores, Builders Supplies, PSM Displays, J&A Entertainment, The Army, Bigfoot Events, C.J Tazz, Party Swan and BJFF. Also, thanks to Martin Bostock for taking pictures on the night.
