Fleetwood Town have given 330 free tickets for current serving military and veterans for Saturday’s Sky Bet League One game with Walsall.

Tickets have been given to the forces’ family, as well as local cadets for the Cod Army’s first home match of November against The Saddlers.

There will be a guard of honour before the game, with standard bearers representing the Royal Navy and RAF, as well as 6 soldiers from the 2 Lancashire Regiment – the same regiment that many Fleetwood players represented during the First World War. A wreath will also be laid in the centre circle prior to kick-off.

This follows on from the club’s memorial service that was held at Poolfoot Farm last Friday, to mark 100 years since the Armistace Agreement.

The club looks forward to welcoming our current and former armed forces to Highbury on Saturday.
