Questions answered ahead of Onward Card launch

31 May 2018

Ahead of the Onward Card going on sale on Friday morning, the club can provide an update on questions posed by supporters.

The club have received a high number of positive responses from fans who are supportive of the new Onward Card, as well as receiving queries around the card.

As we enter a really exciting era with Joey Barton at the helm, to enable us to continue to grow the club, and attract many more people to Highbury, affordability, and convenience of making payments monthly is key, alongside the performance on the pitch.

Please see below some of the frequently asked questions by supports since Wednesday morning, as well as a link below to the full list of FAQs listed on the website.

Why am I unable to pay for the Onward Card upfront?

The club feel that monthly instalments are a far more convenient and affordable way for supporters to pay for the card. This is the norm of course when paying for most regular household bills such as mobile phones, electricity bills etc.

Committing to one method of payment for administration purposes is the best way we can grow our home crowds and allows us to offer exceptional value to our supporters. Prices are from a little as £7.40 per game for an Adult in the Memorial Stand, which works out at a £50 annual saving from last year. This route has also allowed us to keep other areas of the stadium affordable, with only small increases in last year’s prices.

Who are Zebra Finance?

Are there any hidden charges or interest in the agreement?

No. The agreement is 0% APR, with no hidden charges or admin fees.

Will away travel continue to be subsidised?

Yes. Onward Card members will receive subsidised away travel as well as a host of other benefits including exclusive access to the ‘Meet the Head Coach Night’ at Highbury Stadium. More details on this, as well as future benefits will be announced in due course and will be ongoing throughout the season, as we look to have far greater engagement with our supporters throughout the season.

Will the payment terms always be over ten months?

No. This is just the first year. Payments in the second year will be spread even more conveniently pro rata over 12 months. For example, a Standing Adult Onward Card in the first year costs £170, which would be £17 per month over ten months, the cost would be, subject to any price change year on year, just over £14 per month, over a 12 month period.

Will there be a membership scheme?

No. The Onward Card is our new way of delivering affordable entry to all league home games. This also applies to our younger supporters, who can support the Cod Army from just £6 per month.

How much will it be to buy a ticket for a single match next season?

Prices will be published before the end of June, following the fixture release date on the 21st, and will increase on the standard walk-up price from the 2017/2018 season.

Can I change my mind after I have signed the agreement?

You have a right to withdraw within 14 days without giving any reason. After that time you cannot withdraw but you can repay early at any time or make additional payments. You can exercise your right to withdraw in writing or orally. To withdraw please write to Zebra Finance (not the club) using the contact details which will be listed in the Terms & Conditions in the agreement.

Will I get accepted on to the scheme?

Yes, you will be automatically accepted. The only exceptions are if you are a declared bankrupt or have entered into an IVA with creditors.

Can I apply for somebody else?

Yes, you can apply in order to provide another person with the card.

Why is the Direct Debit Scheme with Zebra?

Due to the financial structure of many Football Clubs, it is difficult for any club to set up their own direct debit schemes, thus many, including Manchester United, use Zebra Finance, who are the market leader here.
