After an emphatic win against local rivals Blackpool at the beginning of the season, confidence was high in the camp giving the Town boys a stepping stone for the rest of the campaign. With wins over Blackburn, Preston and Carlisle United, the title was in sight but it came down to the penultimate match of the season to finally be labelled title winners.
Preston North End away and three points was needed but at half-time Town were 3-2 down, with the team knowing what they needed to do at Deepdale. Two early second half goals settled the nerves and the cod army went on to win 5-3 to make it 13 wins out of 13, and be crowned league champions.
The 14th match and win came at Brunton Park - the home of League Two side Carlisle United - and in great spirit, the team came from a goal behind to win 3-1 and be presented with the trophy after the match.
Dave Walton, Fleetwood Town's Futsal Project Officer has huge praise for this year's group and know the amount of hard work and dedication the players have put in on and off the field.
"14 wins out of 14 is a fantastic achievement," said Dave.
"Having a 100% winning record and going unbeaten all season is great for all involved on the BTEC course, especially with us lifting the double with the EFL Trust Futsal Trophy.
"The lads have worked hard and they deserve all the credit they get."
The club would like to congratulate everybody involved with the Fleetwood Town BTEC team for their unbelievable achievements this season.
