Members of Fleetwood Town’s Business Club took part in a well fought charity match against a special FTFC All Stars side – raising funds for two local charities in the process.

Club President Jim Betmead managed a team of former Fleetwood Town players who had tasted success with the club’s rise through the non-league pyramid. The side was skippered by Jamie Milligan with the squad consisting of a number of former players featuring in the game.

The FTFC Business team consisted of Business Club members and club sponsors who paid to play in the game. Friends, family and colleagues joined other spectators to watch the game which finished 13-2 to the All Stars team, with their quality and fitness showed in the final stages of the game.

All spectators and players then enjoyed a post-match business club prize draw in the Parkside Suite.

A total of £1448.25 was raised for both Olly’s Venture and NSPCC, with cheques presented to both charities later in the week.

Martin Booker, Head of Commercial added: “It was a great night with the businesses and former players enjoying 90 minutes on a fantastic pitch.

“Despite having just under two weeks to put the event together the response was fantastic and it’s wetted the appetite for an annual event in the future. Thanks to all involved!”

FTFC Business Club would like to thank everyone who supported the event at Highbury and are already looking forward to planning a bigger and better event in 2019.
