Pair depart Highbury Stadium

25 June 2018

Fleetwood Town can confirm they have reached an agreement to cancel the contracts of Markus Schwabl and Victor Nirennold.

The pair returned to pre-season training last week, but following talks with new Head Coach Joey Barton, it was agreed both could depart Highbury Stadium.

German Schwabl made 34 appearances for the club following his arrival from Vfr Aalen in January last year, the most memorable being a man-of-the-match display against Premier League side Leicester City in the FA Cup Third Round last season.

Nirennold, 27, joined the club in 2015 from FC Miami City, and went on to make 54 appearances in all competitions for the Cod Army, scoring two goals.

Everyone at Fleetwood Town would like to thank the pair for their efforts and wish them all the best for the future.
