Fleetwood Town are delighted to confirm the signing of free agent James Wallace on a short-term contract.
The 26-year-old becomes Joey Barton’s sixth signing of the summer, after a successful trial period, with the midfielder impressing on the club’s pre-season training camp to Budapest last week.
Wallace has enjoyed spells at Tranmere Rovers, Sheffield United and Stockport, and has also been capped by England at U19 and U20 level.
Head coach, Joey Barton, said on his latest arrival: “He’s been with us since the first day of pre-season, so he has every right to be part of the group moving forward.
“He has everything to prove and we want to give him an opportunity at Fleetwood to show us what he can do. He’s been a great addition, and has great leadership qualities and great quality in possession on the pitch.
“We want to get him fit and get him on the pitch, because if we do, we feel he can be a huge asset to us.”
