Ashley Hunter says his side are raring to go as the Cod Army get ready for their first outing in pre-season ahead of the new campaign.
The attacker – who scored nine goals last season to help the club finish off the season strongly – says he can't wait to get back up and running in the upcoming friendly matches.
Town will face Southport in a training match on Tuesday afternoon, ahead of the first pre-season friendly at Salford City on Friday night.
"Tuesday will be everybody's first game back since the end of last season," said Hunter.
"It has been two really good weeks on the training pitch and it's nice to meet the new players and staff. The intensity has changed, the ball is out and we are playing bigger size games in preparation.
"I know we are all looking forward to this one, however it's important that we prepare and play properly, especially with the weather that we have had recently.
"The game will really help us with our fitness and with the training we've had, I hope we can go out and start off with a win.
"We play Salford City on Friday, and that will be another tough one for us ahead of our first game against AFC Wimbledon.
"It will be nice to see people like Graham Alexander, Nathan Pond and some other older faces, but we are going there to win."
The Cod Army are travelling to Budapest on a week-long training camp this Sunday, and this is one that the young forward believes will help with the team spirit and togetherness.
"We've worked hard these last three weeks and we are all going there fit so that will be nice,” added the 22-year-old.
"Everybody will be away for that week and when we are together, we will get to know the new players that have come in, and that will only help us bond.
"This will also help us strengthen that team spirit we already have, but I really can't wait to get out there and prepare for the first league game of the season at Highbury."
