New signing Toumani Diagouraga says he’s committed to giving his all to the club after signing for the Cod Army on Wednesday.

The midfielder completed a move from fellow Sky Bet League One side Plymouth Argyle earlier in the week and is hoping to feature against Southend United on Saturday.

“When you sign you want to be involved straight away. I’ll travel down with the team and then it’s up to the manager to pick the team.”, the Frenchman said.

He added: “I’m here to help the club moving forward and I’ll give 110% in every game regardless of what happens.”

The former Watford and Leeds United man trained with his new teammates for the first time on Wednesday morning, and is linking up with manager Uwe Rosler again after a successful spell under him at Brentford.

Speaking of their time together, Diagouraga said: “I really enjoyed it. I had six years there. I went to Brentford when they were a standard League One team and left when they were a very established Championship team, so it was a successful time.

“I think he [Rosler] is a very organised, a very honest manager and I just like working with him. He’s always been honest with me and I’ve always been good with him.”

The former Paris Saint Germain youth prospect believes the move is an ideal one for both himself and Town: “I almost joined a couple of times in the past, but I think it’s the right time now to join and hopefully help the club moving forward.

“It was important to come closer to my family, with a manager that I already worked under and a club that is ambitious and wants to move forwards. It ticks all the boxes.”

Diagouraga has signed an 18-month contract and will wear the number 16 shirt.

Welcome, Toumani!
