Joey Barton has made his 18 man squad for the final game of 2018, with the visitors being Kenny Jackett’s Portsmouth to Highbury.

Barton – who has seen his side go seven games unbeaten in the league at home – has made two changes to the starting eleven that opened the game against Doncaster Rovers on Boxing Day.

Wes Burns and Harrison Biggins come into the team, with Nathan Sheron and Jason Holt replacing the two on the bench. Burns and Biggins did make a substitute appearance last time out, and with games coming thick and fast, keeping fresh legs is key.

Portsmouth will be without Nathan Thompson as they aim to get back to winning ways. Thompson suffered a hamstring injury in the final stages of the 2-0 defeat at Gillingham on Boxing Day - Pompey's first away loss of the season - and boss Kenny Jackett expects him to be out for some time.

Town’s XI: Cairns (GK), Coyle, Eastham, Burns, Evans, Madden, Morgan ©, Hunter, R. Wallace, Marney, Biggins.

Subs: P. Jones (GK), Holt, Dempsey, McAleny, Bolger, Sheron, J. Wallace.
