Ched Evans took his goal tally to four for the season after adding two in Town’s 5-0 win away at Scunthorpe United.

Fleetwood picked up another three points on the road on Wednesday night, after an emphatic victory at Glanford Park. Evans scored two before his fellow Welshman Wes Burns scored two.

Ash Hunter made it five with a stunning strike from outside the box and the fans, the staff and the Chairman watching thoroughly enjoyed that five star performance.

Here’s what Evans had to say after the game…

On the performance at Scunthorpe…

“I think that result has been coming and if you saw the way we have been training and how we set up really helped us. We lined up in a different formation tonight with two up top and I found that much more lucrative.

“We had runners either side of myself and Paddy [Madden] with Wes Burns and Ash Hunter and it makes it so much easier for the strikers when attacking.

“There’s competition in places and that is why performance are key because you know there’s someone ready to come in your place. When you see the lads who had come on and kept a clean sheet, it is testament to the squad.”

On his two goals…

“It is always good to get on the scoresheet tonight and the mood in that dressing room is amazing.

“As a striker you have to get into the right place and then score when the ball is there and once you get the combination of both, it’s easy.

“I feel it will be an interesting season if we carry on the way we are playing!”

On Scunthorpe being a tough place to come…

“Our away performances at the moment have been brilliant and we keep our unbeaten run going.

“This is a real team effort and as I send, when you look at the dressing room, everybody is buzzing and we need to take that forward into the game at Charlton this Saturday.”
